What can I ship?

Contents are restricted to personal effects and non-perishable foodstuffs. Many items are restricted from export by the US Government and many are restricted from import by the Republic of the Philippines; T-Bar is not liable for any items that are shipped by its customers, you must validate the legality of the items you send. As we ship via container ship, the environment within the container is not controlled and may be subject to temperature shifts, please bear this in mind.

T-Bar is not liable for damage to items due to poor or insufficient packing.

How do I schedule a pick-up?

You can simply call 815.603.8595 and we will schedule an appointment around your availability.

How does the appointment typically go?

One way we can offer you great service at a great price is to minimize our costs by grouping appointments by area. We will ask for your availability and schedule your box pick-up according to when our drivers will be in your area. One of our drivers will call you when they are in the area to confirm your availability.

Is there anything I should do in advance for the pick-up?

Our driver will do all of the heavy lifting, but we do ask that the path to your door is clear of as many obstructions as possible, to make the move go quickly and easily.

How long will it take for my box to arrive in the Philippines?

There are always conditions beyond our control when it comes to shipping internationally. Once the container with your box leaves our terminal, it is an approximately 5 to 6 week voyage to the Port of Manila. Once there, we must wait for customs to clear. From that point, it depends on where in the Philippines you are shipping to, typically within a week for Luzon up to two weeks to Mindanao.

What size boxes do I use when shipping?

Our balikbayan boxes measure 28 in x 18 in x 16 in. When you ship two or more boxes with us, we will replace your boxes free of charge.

What if my boxes are not the correct size?

Because we have a fixed amount of space for shipping, we must ship based on volume. Any deviation from the above dimensions may incur an extra charge.

What about odd shaped or oversized items?

Please give us a call to discuss your item. Again, we ship based on the amount of space a particular item occupies compared to a regular balikbayan box.

Does T-Bar offer package tracking?

At this time we do not allow for real time package tracking. If you would like to know the status of your package, please provide us with the following:

Name of the Shipper and Recipient
Address of Recipient
Approximate Date the Boxes Were Picked-up

Please remember that there is a minimum of 6 weeks for all shipments to arrive in the Philippines.
